blogs to check out

Hi my dear 3H,

here are the blogs you can check out.

http://mrbrown.com/ granddaddy of Singapore blogging! He used to write for today but then got canned because he was deemed a “partisan player” in politics. Quite a good read esp for his “NE” messages.

Some entries don't contain much response but we can't do a blogging assignment without first reading Mr Brown! Look out for his style of writing, his use of humour and his acute insight into the issue behind the incidents.

http://i-speak.blogdrive.com/archive/ (this one is quite political in nature, a good one to look at to see how people use the platform of blog to respond to issues around them and to voice their opinion in a logical, persuasive and responsible way. But do be warned that some of these entries *are* treading on dangerous waters...as students be careful not to go too far. people like to point fingers at the Rafflesian family and it is not uncommon for people to say 'wah, see this one from RI, future leaders! how can they...." etcetcetc. Do be smart about the way you write. Remember that it is cyberspace, and EVERYONE can see what we're writing.

Check out Mr Brown's Sat Feb 3 entry, and the response on the same article from this blog:

a nice example on how to respond to a current topic

asean scholar dissing scholarship…but lacking in personal touch! At the end of the day, still ranting. if you were using the rubrics i gave you, how would he fare?

ok hope that starts us off...i will start checking on your blogs on tuesday onwards, better start!

Miss Chew, your example now only apply for like 4 people. HAHA

hello and welcome

hello 3Hians! (we must think of a cooler name--this is too insipid)

Well done Marcus, you have learnt a new skill this year! Thanks for setting up the blog and choosing a nice template for us. I shall prepare to post my anecdote up soon as an example...right now i'm rushing to prepare my teaching materials for the sec 1s' oral comm lessons.

We can continue to use this blog as a class journal to chronicle happenings in class, and to link your own blogs to this one. Once i figure out how to do that i'll link mine too.

Thanks again my lovely and efficient Eng Rep, now blog away!

Anecdote no.1

Anecdote number 1.

I had never created a blog before. But as the english rep and under the command of Miss Chew, I was ordered to create a class anecdote blog. With no experience whatsoever, i depended on my determination and my strong will. Finally, I managed to create this wonderful blog. This shows that when there's a will, there's a way. YAY! (:
